The Principal and driving creative force behind
McGown Creative is
Tracey McGown. Tracey has definitely “walked the walk” as a
professional communications and media practitioner, with a
stellar career in news media spanning more than 20 years.
As Queensland State Executive Producer for
Channel 7’s Today Tonight,
Tracey was responsible for putting to air half an hour of
news and current affairs every night. She chose and chased
stories, dealt with producers, reporters, directors and
senior management, and negotiated with and secured talent
for exclusive interviews.
In the field she travelled to Malaysia to report on the
controversy over the country’s readiness for the
Commonwealth Games, the opening of the Kansai Airport in
Japan to the Childers Backpacker Hostel Fire. Conflict resolution
by children earned her a nomination for a
United Nations Peace Award.
As a highly lauded TV and print reporter, she covered
numerous and diverse public interest, consumer, health,
fashion and arts issues.
Tracey has recently developed and implemented media
campaigns and communication strategies for clients
spanning many different sectors. From travel and
consumer to the film industry and medical research,
these clients have all benefited from her special and
compelling brand of expertise, creativity, energy and
experience.
Tracey has extensive experience in public speaking,
hosting functions, corporate video voiceover and
presenting. Her contacts are contemporary and
wide-ranging, covering radio, newspapers, magazines and
television outlets in Queensland and Australia-wide.
